Steps Download Article

  1. 1

Start or load a game in Amethyst Mountain

  2. 2

Get to 800 EXP. You can do this by hunting, killing, chasing off predators, or with stranger wolf encounters.

Find and interact with a wolf from each territory (you can do so by searching and following the yellow dots within their territory). After 3 encounters, dispersal wolves will start to appear.

  4. 4

Re-enter or go to another wolf territory and find a dispersal you like. You may have to do this multiple times depending on the spawns.

  5. 5

Interact with your chosen dispersal in the following order:

    • Hello there.
    • I like you.
    • Let's play!
    • Let's start a pack!
    • Let's start a pack!
  6. 6

    Name your new mate.

  7. 7

Go to Slough Creek or stay on Amethyst Mountain.

  • Question

The female Specimen keeps attacking me, even if I do just nice things!

    Community Answer

You can't make Specimen wolves into mates. You need to find Dispersal wolves, then you pick the following, "I like you", "Let's play" etc. Then finally at five hearts, pick "Let's start a pack!" then boom, you have a mate.

  • Question

I have a mate but I cannot find a den and thus cannot get pups. What should I do?

    Community Answer

You have to look in the green area, and keep searching in that space until you find the den. If you are in the Saddle Meadows, it will be in the middle of the green area.

  • Question

How do you get a mate on the trial version? Or, do you have to have the full version?

    Community Answer

You can get a mate in the trial version, you just have to have 800+ experience. It's the same as in the full version. You do need the full version to progress and have pups though.

  • Question

I am using the trial version of WolfQuest, and I am trying Method 2, Dispersal Wolf method. How do I dominate territories?

    Community Answer

You need to be aggressive until the wolf says "I give in!" They will leave if you say "Leave now!" and then you've dominated the territory.

  • Question

Where can I find dispersal wolves on WolfQuest?

    River

In 2.7, you need to have at least 800 XP. In the 2.5.1 version, you need to have dominated at least one wolf in each territory. A message will pop up, telling you to find a mate. Go to a wolf territory and follow the yellow dots in scent mode (Press Z). A dispersal should show up -- press "positive remarks only".

  • Question

How much XP do I need to get a mate? I can't seem to get one no matter how many times I go to the wolf zones.

    River

You need at least 800 XP in the 2.7 version, and you need to have dominated a wolf in each territory in 2.5.1.

  • Question

How do I fix a glitch?

    Community Answer

Download the game again to get any recent updates If that does not work, contact the company and report the glitch.

  • Question

How do I get a mate on the newest version?

    Community Answer

You just kill a lot of elk, hares, coyotes or chase off bears or cougars infill you have 800 experience points. To check your points, hit "esc" and click on "Pack Stats". Once you have 800 points you can go to the three territories untill you find a dispersal mate that is the opposite gender. Make sure to say nice things so you don't scare him/her off. Once you have gotten your mate, name them and head to the star shown on your compass.

  • Question

How can you check how much experience you have?

    Community Answer

Click the Esc button, open Pack Stats, and then on the right side, look for "Experience."

  • Question

What is the easiest way for me to gain experience?

    Community Answer

The easiest way is to kill 8 elk. If you approach a herd of elk, the ones with lower health will run away. Chase them, as these are the easiest to kill. The bull elk is a lot harder to kill, so don't go after it until you have a mate.

  • Don't be surprised if you end up finding three yellow dotted lines joining together. That's good, it means you are close to the stranger wolf.

  • Try not to find a Druid, they're hard to get along with.
